The harp is the engine propelling the trio’s flight over changing landscapes or through changing weather. Flute and viola lines emerge from the motoric harp part as the piece begins, melodic lines take on lives of their own and instrumental roles shift as the piece steers its way through different sections, finally receding from view. The title is a reference to the super-light human-powered aircraft that successfully flew over the English Channel in 1979.
